SEAMONSTER For Limehouse Cut Commissioned by British Waterways, May 2003

Drawing on the seafaring traditions and history of the area of Limehouse, we have designed a fabulous
Seamonster to adorn the wall of Our Lady's Primary School, Limehouse. The School playground backs onto
the Lea Navigation Canal close to Limehouse Basin and the piece can be seen both from the playground
and the canal towpath.

The piece was dedicated in a ceremony at the school on the 19th May 2003. Also celebrated on that day were
the artwork, kites and ceramic wall tiles, made by the school children during our workshops.

It also incorporates an area of decking and shade sails in the playground.

Metal fabrication by Nick Winfield.
